Worked when I opened the box. Worked by gluing it to my golf cart. After 15 minutes, the light will turn off and smell burned when USB connected to the tape light. Haven't owned it for over 6 hours and have failed! Let's hope the replacement I ordered doesn't do the same! It's bright, adheres very well to metal, and the remote worked until it shut down. **** New replacement received on 6/25/2020 ***** This one has worked 2 full days longer than the 1st one I received so far. a few days before. The reason for the 4 stars is that there were no screws in the battery door yet to keep the cover closed. The lid holds up neatly, but can slip off and the batteries fall out. The tape on the LED strip is quite thin but sticks quite well. Don't stop until you're sure of where you're going. The tape will tear if you try to remove and reapply the strip.
