The canvas cover that came with our grill deteriorated in the sun and tore badly after only 1 year of use. So far, I really like this one. It went on easily and is made of a different fabric that is light and easy to manipulate as opposed to thick heavy canvas covers. It reminds me of the tent material but is more supple and flowing. It appears to do well in the sun so far. Our deck is completely exposed to the sun all day, so time will tell. It is lightweight but comes with straps that you can use to secure it to the grill. I think our grill is about an inch or so smaller both ways than the recommended size for this cover, but it fits great with room underneath for air to circulate. I am so glad to finally have something that goes on and off easily and keeps water off the grill when it rains!
