USE: 30ft Class A RV. Update in four months: Shortly after heavy rains in the area, the chamber water tightness failed. Condensation has resulted in corrupted, dark images or no signal at all. I emailed the seller about the issue and they quickly sent a replacement camera. I'll probably add some extra sealant to prevent future water leaks on this camera once installed. However, I am impressed and delighted with the excellent customer support! _________________ On Revain and elsewhere you'll find an almost endless supply of backup cameras with prices and performance all over the map. I installed a similar device that cost twice as much in our previous RV and found it invaluable for monitoring traffic behind me and backing the beast into parking. For our new RV I wanted something with better camera and monitor resolution and after doing a lot more research than I wanted I settled on this unit. At this price I was impressed with the overall quality of the device. The packaging was good to say the least. The instructions were pretty clear and the unit comes with everything you need for different types of setups, which is nice too. It's a simple setup: mount the camera at the top of the rear of your RV, connect it to the top of the trailer parking lights so that the camera turns on when the headlights are on, then mount a video monitor in the cab and plug it in on. connect to a cigarette lighter or light switch. Of course, I tested the system on the stand before installing it. I guess the camera and monitor were already paired. Once switched on, they worked together immediately. As a test I set up the camera on the back deck and got the monitor out through the front door on the other side of the house. I got a 3 band signal and a crystal clear picture through two interior walls and one exterior wall - over 50 feet away. There was hope. After installation, I found the ride quality to be excellent. I was really impressed with the monitor's clarity, color and resolution. Much better than I expected. When moving vehicles or other objects in the field of view of the cameras, there is a slight delay in the image, ie image jerking. That's not a bad thing in my opinion, it's just the price you pay for higher resolution - a lot of data is transmitted over the wireless network. If this is an issue for you, I would recommend a device that is either hard-wired from the camera to the monitor (not wireless) or a lower resolution system. As for me, I'm sticking with it as it exceeds my expectations. Highly recommended.
