Great Little Scanner

I needed a scanner that I could use both at home and in my tiny cabin (where my only power source is a 12 volt solar panel) and this product was perfect for that application. Of course, it only accepts an analog signal, but for my region (Central Missouri) it's enough to keep up. It brings all my local police, fire and ambulance services, both dispatcher and mobile, well. I like the ability to switch to other bands accepted by this scanner such as B. Air and sea. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the manual is hard to understand but you can watch some youtube videos to get the idea and after that it's pretty easy. Helpful tips. If you program your local frequencies into private mode you will get much better performance by disabling all options except private mode and if you wish to listen to any of the other bands simply select the specific band of your choice and disable it . Private Band because if you try to scan too many bands at once you will miss a lot because there is a lot on the air and you can only hear one frequency at a time. Finally, a good tip for private programming locals is to go to broadcastify.com and select the area you want to hear. Broadcastify lets you listen to shows near you. Next, begin finding scanner frequencies for your area by programming them into the scanner. If there are no trunk frequencies, you should hear the scanner talking when the broadcast is talking. I hope this is easy to understand as it is relatively easy to do. Overall I am very happy with this product, it does what I need it to do.

Pros
  • You can store up to 300 frequencies to be scanned along with preset frequencies. So whenever you come across a newly activated local frequency for a category of service, you can add it to the bank for that category. This gives you quick access to the frequencies you want to hear.
