I have sea wool items that I paid more for, they are just as soft if not a hair's breadth softer. Marine wool generally has a slight itchiness, much less so than standard wool, but it's still there. Don't expect them to be as smooth as synthetics, you will be disappointed. I'm used to this feeling. Pretty cool, they included a free pair of wool socks with the order, very nice. I'm very happy with my purchase and will most likely buy another pair, possibly in a lighter material to wear when it's warmer.
