Oddly enough I bought it hoping the noise would stop my cat from going upstairs and into our bedrooms (he likes living at home and sleeping outside in our beds after killing mice/rats and laying on his trophies .eww). I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of sound options and motion sensitivity. I installed it at the top of the stairs and it actually feels like I'm walking down the bottom step. I left it on the lowest setting so it wasn't too scary and tried the dog barking option. We have a dog so my cat is definitely not scared of them but he never likes the sound of barking. So far it works great. Last night my cat went up the stairs but he didn't go up because of this car. It was very easy to install (just make sure you have 3A batteries) and the remote control is great too. Even if my cat eventually stops barking, I would still find it a good added security measure if she was outside the front door at night. For the price it's definitely worth it! A much better option than smelly, ineffective cat sprays or a $35 motor that belches loud bursts of air.
