Review on Japanese Stainless Blade Utility Handle Gift Packaging by Ari Tanner

Two stars because at least those are the knives

I lose/throw away my pairs of knives all the time so I figured I wouldn't lose three at that price. I must have been wrong. Basically, these are knives in shape and form. The grips are VERY thick in the hand, but that's a minor issue. I've never had to sharpen knives after not even using them fully, but I did with these. I cut an onion and had to push the knife down to go through the onion. A rule of thumb with knives is that if you apply extra pressure to cut something, the knife will dull, or you shouldn't cut the object with the knife. The damask pattern looks more like the result of etching or heavy etching than real layering. The flat part is VERY rough with black lines from 1/32" to 1/64" deep. You can hardly feel the pattern and pattern on my high-quality Japanese damascus steel. Finally, you must hand dry your knives after cleaning them, as the edges will rust when air dried.
