The aluminum deodorants you buy in the supermarket don't work for me and aren't that safe to use, so I've switched to more natural alternatives. I use dr. Rum. Squatch Bay has been around for a few months now (I originally bought from the Dr. Squatch website but have now decided to go with Revain as it's faster). I have to say I'm quite impressed! I've been using more natural deodorants for several years (I've tried at least half a dozen brands) and Dr. Squatch is the best for long-term odor prevention without permanently staining clothes. Bay Rum is more of a clove/cinnamon scent, more of a holiday scent to me than a beach scent, but I still like it. If you don't like or tolerate "fresh" flavors, then Bay Rum is for you because it's smoother and tangy-sweet. If you're switching from aluminum deodorants to natural or semi-natural deodorants, you need to understand that grocery-store aluminum deodorants leave waxy residue in your pores — you'll need to give your armpits a thorough wash (with soap, water, and a washcloth!), maybe even a gentle scrub to get rid of them Giving your skin time to clear that waxy crap out of your pores. It can take a week to a month for the body to get rid of wax deposits, but most people don't realize this, which is why natural deodorants get a bad rap. Give your body time to adjust! Sorry but you need to clean the pits with soap and water and a washcloth! If you dr. Squatch, but you still have odor problems, you need to clean up better. If this does not solve the problem, see a doctor as you may have health problems.
