Review on HERO 72 Watercolor Pencils: Vibrant Colors for Art Students & Professionals - Set of 72 by Dawn Fischer

Gorgeous shades and they blend like a dream.

My experience with water based pens is limited. I haven't actually been into drawing that long so my experience with colored pencils is limited, but the Hero 72 colored pencils blend like a dream. I have no idea how the paint/pens are supposed to behave when water is added, but I actually tried. It seemed to me that it brightened my colors and smoothed them out. Something I learned is that you can't add more color after using water. The pens are color coded below, which doesn't match the color of the pen very well, but they are numbered to help you keep track of the colors. you used The tin can has the numbers and the corresponding color names on it. One thing I noticed is that they have four shades of blue that look exactly the same color or as close as possible. Aside from these four, all of the other colors vary in hue enough to be distinct and useful. Another plus! The pins are triangular so they don't roll on the table. The pencil set comes pre-sharpened. However, I don't know if they sharpened their machetes or how! The pencils are exaggerated in my opinion and show more lead than wood. Because of this, some of my leads broke due to insufficient support. It took a lot of pencil to sharpen them again. Actually, I'm surprised I only lost two leads. There are several shades in this set that I didn't have before and I'm very glad I have them now. The main color is peach. This is closest to my skin tone. Despite the shortcomings listed, these pencils are great. I would buy this set. I have attached an image that I colored with these pens. I tried the water effect on part of the dress. Eyelashes painted with a gel pen, not with these pens. I've also included a picture of my color chart for this set.
