Requires USB 2.0 adapter to transfer data to Pixel Poi

I am connecting the USB-C side to my laptop, which only has USB-C ports (it's an HP Spectre) and micro- USB with my Ignis Pixel poi. The cable charges my pixel poi from my laptop - no problem. The problem arose when trying to transfer data from my laptop to my pixel poi. My laptop did not recognize that I connected a device. Luckily I also bought a USB-C to USB 2.0 adapter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082MDGRZ6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I had to plug the whole thing into another adapter because my laptop only has USB-C ports. It looks like this: Laptop > USB-C > USB 2.0 > USB-C > Micro-USB. The whole point of buying this cable was that I wouldn't bother with USB 2.0 or adapters at all. Anyway it works and I'm fine now. If you read the first paragraph of the product description it says "supports Hi-Speed USB 2.0 data rates up to 480Mbps" so I guess I should have read more carefully. I've successfully used other USB-C to Micro USB cables for this purpose and didn't need any adapters, so I think it's the cable.

Pros
  • Cables and accessories
Cons
  • Requires power outlet
