The inner coils have much less browning
I didn't follow the level 5 tanning instructions at first, so I may be tanning unevenly. I tried that after the fact, but the coils inside still get way less heat than the coils on the sides of the toaster. I prefer just the lightest tan on both sides, but setting #1 gives you a light tan on one side and NO tan on the other. So I settle for setting #2 with medium brown because it's light brown on at least one side. I bought it for its good looks and low price but you get what you pay for!
