Really brings Wi-Fi into the 'dead zones'

I know what I'm doing and my reviews are solid. I recently bought this guy for a Raspberry Pi project I've been working on for 6 years. Months. In a commercial enterprise Wi-Fi environment, there were several key office locations (remote indoor hotspots closed) where I could not get a WiFi signal. But since I was able to get at least 1 band on my Samsung Galaxy S6 phone and do some basic data testing, I figured all I needed was a long-range USB WiFi device. So I tried the recommended adafruit: Long Range WiFi USB with Antenna for Raspberry Pi, as well as another version of Edimax: Edimax AC1750 Dual-Band Wi-Fi USB 3.0 Adapter and several generic USB dongles, but I couldn't find any. which made no difference in my particular situation. Having had very good experiences with Edimax in the past, I felt that by talking to them about their device's shortcomings, I could better understand what technical hurdles I had to overcome and get advice on my WiFi range. Problem. After the first phone call they recommended me this device, and the second, where after the purchase I got a compiled driver for Linux (Raspian Jesse in particular), I immediately started working (by the way, they provide excellent support, and in my experience at least, there is always someone available to chat). So in the end it's the only device (there are the two above plus some standard USB dongle types without an antenna which I haven't mentioned) that works great and gives me WiFi connectivity. where I had nothing before.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky
