Type of review

I was thinking of getting a more expensive Wi-Fi directional antenna but this works so well I don't see the need now. This works fine on Windows 7 Pro 64bit and Windows 10 Pro 64bit. I didn't even have to unplug the internal adapter. Most negative one-star reviews are outdated and therefore no longer valid. In fact, almost all of the old one star reviews I've read refer to the ***Edimax EW-7811UTC AC600 Dual Band USB Adapter***, NOT this antenna. Make it clear, Revain. Sloppy. The only ones…

Just received my EW-7811UAC adapter about 15 minutes ago and it's already running at 80+ Mbit/s Adapter settings need to changed and I'll update this review when I do.) I followed the steps below to install the drivers: NOTE: I didn't install anything from the CD that came with it 1: Went to the Edimax website, Selected My Adapter and then downloaded the driver for my windows 7 64bit pc and saved the zip file to my desktop 2: extracted the zip file directly to my desktop (so it was easy to…

I downloaded the driver from the site. Fixed connection problem.

tl/dr: I downloaded the driver from the website. Fixed connection problem. I use this for my desktop computer running Windows 7. I used the installation disc that came with it to install the driver and followed the instructions. It was able to detect all Wi-Fi networks in my cul-de-sac and outside, which is very impressive. However, for some reason, the connection failed. Googling for solutions to this didn't turn up much, but I did find a thread discussing issues with the driver that came in…

Competes with Netgear A6200 in speed; Doesn't crash Win 8.1

As fast as the Netgear A6200 I had before and doesn't crash Windows 8.1 every 12-24 hours. My A6200 was smoking fast but about every day the adapter stopped working and when I restarted windows I got a blue screen of death and a notification that my system had a "power driver status error" or something. how is it. Makes me mad. When I found out it was the A6200 I tried reinstalling the latest driver, rolling back the driver one version and even installing the European beta driver. Nothing…

Really brings Wi-Fi into the 'dead zones'

I know what I'm doing and my reviews are solid. I recently bought this guy for a Raspberry Pi project I've been working on for 6 years. Months. In a commercial enterprise Wi-Fi environment, there were several key office locations (remote indoor hotspots closed) where I could not get a WiFi signal. But since I was able to get at least 1 band on my Samsung Galaxy S6 phone and do some basic data testing, I figured all I needed was a long-range USB WiFi device. So I tried the recommended adafruit…
