Review on πŸ“Ά Enhance Signal Reception & Transmission with Edimax EW-7811UAC 11AC Dualband USB Adapter and High Gain Antenna + Free USB Extension Cradle by Chris Dildine

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Competes with Netgear A6200 in speed; Doesn't crash Win 8.1

As fast as the Netgear A6200 I had before and doesn't crash Windows 8.1 every 12-24 hours. My A6200 was smoking fast but about every day the adapter stopped working and when I restarted windows I got a blue screen of death and a notification that my system had a "power driver status error" or something. how is it. Makes me mad. When I found out it was the A6200 I tried reinstalling the latest driver, rolling back the driver one version and even installing the European beta driver. Nothing helped. On the flyer I would replace it with cheap Revain. This one rated highly (one of my unbreakable criteria) and was directional (Edimax also has an omnidirectional version, unless unlike me you're trying to connect from the other side of the house, quite a distance from the hotspot). I am very happy. Like the A6200 it replaces, the Edimax smokes quickly and, even better, consistently. I got rid of the daily misery of rebooting. The A6200 will hit the shelves (or maybe just Ebay). color me happy
