The Xerox WorkCentre 6515 DNI is one heck of a printer! Until you try to set it up for all your functions. Out of the box it's beautiful, well designed and heavy. Depending on your setup and what you actually want to use it for, this can be very easy or very, very, very difficult. Set it up, plug in the USB cable, follow the instructions, install the software - bam! I typed for my pleasure. The color is impressive, etc., etc., blah blah blah. I then tried setting it up on my network via WiFi. The pain started. Setting it up via the dashboard panel is excruciatingly and excruciatingly slow. I tried and tried to set it up and finally had to settle for the WiFi button process. Nothing bad per se, but I didn't have to stumble to find this job. So now I'm printing via USB and WiFi, great! Right? Not quite. The online literature says that it is best to connect the printer to your network with an Ethernet cable connected to your router so that you can then share it with other computers. All right, that's okay! I plug in the ethernet cable and disable the USB port and now the nightmares begin. Waking up the printer to actually print becomes a problem. The problem is getting the printer to work with dynamically assigned IP addresses. I spent several days trying to fix these errors. In this process, I became very familiar with the need to log in to the printer's IP address through the computer to access the control panel over the Internet to go through many settings and ask questions. Even at this point I still haven't gotten the fax to work properly. On the way to getting the scanner to work after many attempts to get it to scan to a folder on my computer. I called tech support only to find out that A. I need to set up a login on my computer; and B. I also need to set up a login for the printer. What a nuisance for a family computer. Now my kids have to type through "1234".
