I've found that some of the cheaper kits come with wires advertised as 8 gauge, but when you actually get them you'll find something like that like 14 gauge wire with lots of thick insulation. This wire is 8 gauge thin copper wire with good insulation. It is easy to use, behaves very well and seems to meet the advertised specifications. I installed an aftermarket subwoofer/woofer combo in my new car in addition to the existing factory radio which is pretty good on its own. The subwoofer adds a whole new dimension to the sound and makes it so much better than stereo! The small investment of time and money is definitely worth it. In fact, I was so pleased with the results that I duplicated the purchase (including an 8 gauge InstallGear cable) and installed another in my wife's truck. She was VERY happy with the result! Happy wife happy life!
