Review on ๐Ÿ“€ LG WH16NS40 Blu-ray Disc Rewriter - Internal SATA Super Multi 16x by Maya Allen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Flawless out-of-the-box performance

I have researched very carefully for the best Blu-ray burner to burn M-Discs for long-term archiving. I chose this one despite being cheaper and having slightly lower reviews. There are two other Blu-ray burners I've been able to find on Amazon with higher ratings. ). I assumed these issues were firmware or software related based on my technical experience. People got devices with outdated firmware or used crappy recording software like Cyberlink. After receiving the goods, I was ready to reinstall the firmware and try several reliable burning programs (ImgBurn, BurnAware, Nero). To my surprise, this device works perfectly with the first software I tried. Updates are not required. On Windows 10, I burn discs at the lowest speed to improve burning quality and reduce the possibility of errors. Literally writing M-Discs 25gb takes about 15 minutes plus 20 minutes for background checks. Each disc writes flawlessly and passes 100% data verification After burning, store discs in a dark, cool, low-humidity place. Plastic boxes are better than cheap paper envelopes. If you use these for archiving, it makes sense to store them in a high-quality case. 30 years in a paper envelope is not a good idea. A good drawer in a firebox or safe is what you need. Also, place them in tightly sealed ziplock bags as this can help prevent moisture damage to the drive killing the discs in the first place, as well as scratches from mishandling. Overall I am very happy with my new disc burner. I will re-read this review if I have any issues or if the drive suddenly stops working after a week. Now I give 5 stars
