Vinyl wraps are popular because they change their appearance with minimal effort (and expense) and are relatively easy to remove. However, attaching slides like this takes some practice and I recommend trying it on the part that's a little tricky (corners, etc.). The high gloss coating over the carbon fiber pattern makes the appearance smoother. Now real carbon fiber isn't used anywhere, and it wouldn't be easy to attach anyway, but the looks are pretty close (if you don't get too close). The clear coat is generally more susceptible to aging (UV) than just textured black vinyl. Time will tell how long I can get away with it. You can expect around seven years on textured (matte) vinyl, and a little more with careless maintenance.
