Review on TiVo AG0100 Wireless Network Adapter by Jim Bethea

I recently purchased an HD Tivo device. The problem was that there was no land line phone jack near the Tivo location. You see, Tivo needs a phone connection to update software and download weekly TV programs. I went out and bought one of those wireless phone jacks that worked for a few months and then slowly died. I had to find another way for Tivo to connect to my data source to perform the required download. Enter the wireless adapter Tivo AG0100. Number of very satisfied owners. Of course, there was a small handful of people who said the thing just wasn't working for them. I took the risk and bought this device. Setup took less than 5 minutes. Simply connect the USB cable between the back of the Tivo and the small AG0100 antenna unit. Once connected, Tivo will automatically detect the connection and guide you through the setup process. If you have a secure WEP network, all you have to do is enter your password and the connection will be established. On the back of the AG0100 you'll find a small light bar that measures the strength of your connection. I was very surprised that the signal strength was at its maximum on the opposite end of the house on the lower floor. This is the perfect way to solve the problem of no landline near your Tivo device.
