Works great with 3.3V ESP8266
Both receiver and transmitter worked fine with my 3.3V ESP8266 NodeMCU board. in my case) contacts. Uses the IRRemoteESP8266 library. The transmitter isn't very wide (can't bounce off the ceiling like my remote), but the range is at least 5-10 feet. didn't try anymore.
