I have never used a curler and decided to try it. I chose this one because the price of all the cheapest models looked the same only 1 piece to attach and it was very easy to make love how it makes the yarn into 'cakes' instead of a ball and the guide thread is smooth and slightly off centre comes out.The mechanisms are smooth and to create a normal size skein it only takes a few minutes.It comes off the spool very easily. I've used this with acrylic, cotton and scrubby yarn. and it makes my projects much easier. When I'm ready to use I just put a piece of yarn in some cheap bowls I bought and I get a continuous smooth skein. As a bonus I got scissors, yarn needles and stitch markers. I highly recommend this product.
