Review on 4X4 Posi Lok PSL400 Axle Disconnect by Mufti Carter

Love this kit. I installed this on my 97 Ram 1500, 4x4 5 speed. I tow a lot of trailers and the 2WD Low feature is great for reversing with heavy trailers or in tight spaces. (Keeps grip, you can crawl when idling). Installation was pretty easy, took 2 hours Make sure you use plenty of zip ties to keep the cable away from exhaust fumes or sharp corners. There are two ways to activate the 4x4, either by turning the knob counter-clockwise or by pressing the knob and pulling out until it clicks. How I do it: Put the truck in neutral and pull the transfer case lever into the 4x4 position. Then turn the Posi-Lok knob while slowly turning the steering wheel back and forth. This will align the axle shafts and you will feel them snap into the 4x4 position. Summary: I love this kit, one of my favorite upgrades I've made to my truck. I've had it for 6 months now and no problems so far. Much faster and more reliable than a standard vacuum actuator. In addition, this kit is manufactured by Posi-Lok and is original. There is also an Alloy USA fake here which is not of the same quality. Spend the extra $$ and get the real deal.
