I never liked the standard HU in my 2009 MS3. I got new speakers, but kept putting off a new HU. Lazy! 11 years later I finally did something about it. Having gone through some quirks installing and running this thing, I can say I'm very satisfied. Quirks are the reason why I speak almost perfectly. Compared to stock it has better performance, a touchscreen but the buttons remain, all steering wheel controls work, a lot of extra options and it looks very similar to stock. The default backlight is red, so it matches the dashboard backlight on my MS3. Some things I've come across: - If you have 2006-2009 3 or MS3, a few extra clips before you start. You can see them in the second photo. These things seem to appear and disappear or break. Significantly cheaper online than at a retailer. But I didn't want to wait! The bottom of the HU didn't quite fit as the bottom tabs on the new HU are 1/8" longer so the unit was sticking out and the AC controls were a bit loose. I inserted a thin square piece of plastic with a hole drilled in it between the dash bezel and the A/C control lugs. You'll see it when you pull out the old block - To set up Bluetooth, press "Pair" on your phone and GU. I don't remember doing this on either device. Usually you simply recognize the pairing request and that's it. anything. It works out. Finally, remember that this is an Android operating system. When something doesn't work properly. reboot. Use a needle to press the button in the small RES hole in the top right corner.
