protocols I've noticed mixed reviews about how easy it is to draw water through a straw . Some users say it's not that bad, others say it's very difficult. When I received my bottle I fell into the latter category. My face hurt after a few sips. If you remove the charcoal filter from the top at all, it's very easy to draw water through the straw. If you have a straw that is difficult to pull through, you can try the following little tweak to see if it helps you. After this small adjustment, using a straw with the carbon filter installed became tolerable for me. Instructions: 1. Remove the activated carbon filter from the tip of the straw2. Pry off the plastic casing with your fingernail3. If you see a seam on the top of the plastic case (this reduces the surface area for water to pass through), carefully remove the charcoal bag4. Move the bag with the seams along the cylindrical wall of the plastic case5. Carefully insert the pouch into the case, swing it back and replace the cap6. Put the charcoal filter back into the straw and see if it is easier to draw water through the straw.
