I often use white lithium grease in syringe hoses, jars and tubes. The squeeze hose type is by far the easiest to use for general housekeeping, garden and tool maintenance. It lasts forever or when the tube is empty. For door hinges, you probably won't find a better, easier-to-use, multi-purpose lubricant. For garden tools, especially shears and grapples, this is an important maintenance item. White lithium is good for lightly lubricating almost anything that has metal-to-metal contact.
