Let's start by saying that the metal of the stand is durable and strong. The included gear is also made of thick steel and will not crack, bend or break. Assembling and installing the monitor on the table was easy enough, but I got what some of the one star reviews said. The up and down tilt tension just doesn't keep the monitor upright. The front of the monitor leaned further towards the table. No matter how I put it on, over time it started to sag. However, I managed to fix it. I disassembled the swing out piece that the VESA plate attaches to and checked what the problem might be. There are two metal cones on both sides, which feels very smooth, like oily. I assume that this way they support the tilting function of the stand. It can be reverse engineered or just a leftover from the manufacturing process. Anyway, I cleaned both parts of the cone with soap and water and dried them, after that they didn't look smooth anymore. I reassembled the pan/tilt head, tightened the turnbuckle and viola! The monitor no longer sags immediately or after a while. I didn't have to twist it as much either, although it still requires a good amount of tension. Another gas spring compressor works great in the middle of the lever. You may need a few spins to get it where it doesn't fall on the table. My monitor is 27" curved and weighs about 11 pounds without the included stand.
