I used to use Scotch Brite on the windscreen - big mistake! I had minor scratches on a pickup truck windshield. I first tried using toothpaste on a small area of the glass but saw no improvement and actually looked like the toothpaste was adding scratches. Cerium oxide is what you need. I washed the windshield first and then trimmed the fairing. I did the passenger side first in case that doesn't work. I used a 1/2" bit that only spins at 1000 RPM. I followed the directions, mixing the cerium oxide with water and soaking the felt pad. It took about 20-25 minutes to halfway through that Polishing the windshield. I washed the windshield and found all the scratches were gone. I repeated the process for the driver's side and found that there were a few small scratches left. I just kept polishing and now all the scratches are gone or almost invisible. Great product.
