Review on Pro Breeze Purifier Generator Allergies by Lisa Zimmerman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Mighty Little Miracle!

Our swanky glass porch is disgusting because it's also my husband's cigar bar. When we built it I was adamant that it shouldn't happen, so we bought an expensive "air purifier". This particular purifier requires expensive specialty smoke filters if you're hoping to clean it. Well... it doesn't work. The room stinks, he stinks, I stink, our dogs stink. Sometimes I go out there and have to wave my hands to even find the culprit! The arched windows have to be cleaned professionally - my dream turned into a nightmare. At first I researched ozone generators, but it turned out that ozone is dangerous for plants. So here I smoke secondhand smoke and my husband is concerned about ozone. However, after doing more research, I found out that ozone and negative ions are not the same thing. With Revain having so many customers, I now live and die by reviews - if anything says "Be the first to review this product", definitely not. The search option is "Only show me four and five star reviews, I can sort out losers and junk quickly." In terms of price, this one was the top choice - and almost all 5 star reviews. at the same price as replacement filters were not available -- WTH? This spoke to me --- I received it in less than two days. I saw it on my porch and installed it in about two minutes. I installed it in front of a Ptac unit that heats and cools the room. The heater didn't turn on, the instructions say it shouldn't be near a heat source. The unit is light enough to handle (there was a notch for a grab) and unlike our bulky mop on wheels, it moves when turned on --- the fan is a little noisy at first but quickly finds its grove and is very quiet, also in height. I lay down on the couch to watch -- and fell asleep after a few minutes. I put it in the bedroom at night - again it makes less noise than a stove. I still don't know how to turn off the light and not blow my mind Fan --- Sleep mode turns off the light, but the fan speed is reduced. LOVE the ion generator. My only complaint about it is that in daylight you can't see if you're making ions or not. The indicator lights glow light blue in the dark, but do not light up during the day. A cigar smoker decided to test this this morning. He sat where he always sits, puffing smoke towards the Pro Breeze. He said the smoke gathered into a regular cloud shape, reached about 6 feet from the Pro Breeze and didn't dissipate so much that it tumbled down and disappeared. He said it was quite entertaining. It's not like I bought this piece for its entertainment value, but even he has to admit the Pro Breeze has solved a big problem - or at least so far. Some other air purifier reviews include reports of their devices working perfectly and then refusing to turn on. I will REALLY let you all know when this happens. But for now, I'm happy that this little cleaner (which costs less than a new set of filters for the "big gun" in the room) is doing its job of entertaining my husband. The big mop has a remote control that is used a lot because it works at height and is so loud you can't hear yourself. When I first started looking for a smaller unit, I avoided "true HEPA" because I didn't want to be tied to buying more filters than we already have to buy. A filter is rated for 5,000 hours of operation before replacement is required. The manual recommends vacuuming once a month. And when we need them, they're readily available here. I don't know of a smell more penetrating than cigar or cigarette smoke - if this thing can get it out of an enclosed space, it can do anything.

Pros
  • 4 Filter System: Our air purifiers have a four-stage filter system that can filter up to 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. The air is passed through a pre-filter, a HEPA filter, a catalytic refrigeration filter and an activated carbon filter to ensure thorough cleaning of the air in your home.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
