Review on 🐱 PetSafe Come With Me Kitty Harness and Bungee Leash - Large, Royal Blue/Navy: The Ultimate Cat Harness for Safe Outdoor Adventures by Gerald Mcrae

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Both cats love it! My recommendation after 2 weeks of use.

We first bought a red kit for our kitten who felt the need to go outside so we thought it would be an incentive to learn how to stay on a leash. He quickly learned the rule: put on your belt = go out = yes, please! His sister watched for a few days but then showed interest so we ordered a purple set for her. She is more cautious, but quickly got used to the harness and leash. We first tried the vest style on both cats and it wasn't accepted at all, plus it was easy for the boy to get out of it. With this design, the harness can be quite tight in the middle, and the neck only contracts when they pull (making them less dramatic due to the elasticated leash). The neck is Y-shaped and splits in the middle of the chest, loops around the cat's head and comes together again at the clasp at the back. The neck loop goes through the attachment at the top of the shoulders, in the same place where the leash attaches. When the cat pulls, the noose tightens but does not strangle the cat. Note: A cat CAN get out of this (or any other) harness. Don't let them off you/the leash or they'll go away quickly. We let the cats choose their own direction and follow them, so the leash is always pulled behind them as they move forward - it stays in place and they are content and don't try to run away. Also, the cat is fun to follow, it doesn't often walk in a straight line. If the cats try to run away, pull the leash and lift your front paws off the ground - they can't reach anything. Traction with no legs on the ground and they don't come out of the harness, plus it doesn't choke, it just lifts. Immediately pick them up and go back inside to teach them that trying this trick will complete the walk. We have been using these belts for about two weeks now and everything is going well. The harnesses are comfortable enough for cats to wear. The only downside, if there is one, is that we created cats that need to be walked. Who could blame them? It is fun!
