My 10 yo The eldest daughter had severe eczema. At one point she had wounds covering most of her body. After spending thousands on everything from dozens of creams, lotions, soaps, pajamas, covering her hands to keep her from itching, an air purifier, tons of recipes and more, I found this seaweed. I bought it and left it on the counter for eight months based on some negative reviews I came across. I was afraid that this would aggravate her condition. Boy was that a mistake! We have found several products that we use daily to relieve her itchiness and this is one of them. These are real algae people! So if you buy seaweed, don't rate 1 star because it looks and smells like seaweed. If you open the pouch you will find a white mesh pouch and dried seaweed. I usually fill the bag about a third full with seaweed. Then I hang the bag under the tap while I bathe my daughter. Usually the water turns green. Big surprise - it smells like seaweed! This is not our favorite scent. I think there is metal in my water and many other things. Algae absorb heavy metals, nuclear waste and other toxic materials. That's why I love running the water through the algae bag. Some days I let the bag float in the bathtub while she fills up, other days I add her tea tree sanitizer after the water stops flowing and take out the seaweed bag beforehand so it's out of the way. t absorb the tea tree. Before we used this product, my daughter came out of the bathroom just as itchy (if not more) than she came in. One of the most difficult things about treating eczema is that it is very itchy and scratching exposes the skin. hurts right away. This is called the scratch-itch cycle. I haven't slept well for 18 months because of this and it's every parent's worst nightmare for a child with eczema. I'm renting an apartment and can't find a good water filter for my bathroom faucet that filters out heavy metals and I don't want to buy one for the whole house, it's too much for a place that I don't own. I was thinking about using seaweed and came across this product. It was amazing! We use it daily. As I said, I put a third of the seaweed in a mesh bag. I use the bag for three baths, three days in a row, then pour out the seaweed and add another third of the seaweed. A bag of black seaweed is enough for nine baths. One day I decided to try an algae free life. It was a nightmare! My daughter's skin was getting red and itchy and I stayed up half the night trying to soothe her skin and keep her from scratching. I cannot live without this product. It's on my autoship. It's a bit dirty. I usually just open the mesh bag, take a handful of seaweed and stuff it in. Sometimes I'll slip a mesh bag over the open top of a black bag and try to fill it. Sometimes algae end up on the floor, but they are easily swept away. Sometimes loose seaweed gets into the tub, but we have wire mesh that you can put down the drain. When my daughter starts draining the tub, she puts a wire mesh down the drain to catch the algae. These screens can be purchased at almost any store for between $2 and $5.
