Device does its job well enough. Temperature and humidity readings seem to match my other device. CO2 values are in a reasonable range: approx. 405-409 ppm outdoors, 405-600-1000 indoors depending on ventilation, 5000 exhaled directly to the sensor. The measured values observed over several days remain constant. It seems that the device cannot save measurements and view or load "history". These are actual readings only and may be affected by the speed at which the air reaches the sensor. .It may take a few minutes for the value to change from 5000 (when breathing into the device) to 410 (outside air), but only room measurements should not be affected as the concentration does not change that quickly with normal use. .The battery lasts about a day and is quickly charged via micro USB. From what I understand, the NDIR sensor in the device alone consumes quite a bit of power compared to temp and humidity, and so a rechargeable battery makes sense (just temp and humidity can use a AAA battery for a year). The CO2 sensor itself isn't cheap, so the overall price seems reasonable. So in terms of functionality this is a good device for everyday home use and the internals seem reasonable and work well. The design looks stylish, cute and attractive, but it could be significantly better compared to other devices: - the shape is round, easily knocked off the rocker and rolls across the table - everything but the CO2 reading is too small readable from a distance on the table - the glass appears to be super-reflective, making it difficult to read from all angles - the backlit white-on-black LCD display dims when viewed from below; it's legible, but combined with reflections, it can be hard to see - the backlit display drains battery power; It can be turned off automatically, but then there's no point in keeping the device running, since it's impossible to get readings while the screen is off. - In any case, the color can be used to illuminate the entire screen and turn green-yellow-red depending on the conditions. For comparison, the photos show a much older humidity/temperature device which has a screen that is about the same size but is very legible, has large numbers and much more information (minimum-maximum readings over a 24 hour period ). . The display is not backlit, consumes little power, but is very easy to read. Most of these devices have an "on demand” backlight, which can also optionally be used to illuminate the entire screen in amber or red in hazardous environments. By the way, about the round shape that does not roll off the table. The photos show an example of an ultra-simple classic design that combines simple looks (round), practicality (does not roll) and technical requirements (must have a battery). I dare call it timeless. :-) In my opinion sometimes the desire for a "stylish" appearance leads to less practical results. Overall, however, this device looks a lot better than many others in the same category.
