Review on Lipper International 7218 Kitchen Chopping by Tara Wilson

Great board but those damn sticky labels! (+update)

This is the perfect board size for everyday use such as slicing vegetables, meat etc. The trailing edge should be lighter on my knives to keep their blades sharper and longer. - Nick! All parts are seamlessly connected to each other. Surfaces are very smooth. Not that it matters when it comes to slicing and chopping, but this board is beautiful to look at and looks great standing at the end of my counter. But I have a complaint! There was a large round label on the back of the board. It came off very easily, which I appreciated. The problem is that all the glue on the label sticks to the wood! It left a circular film of dirty glue almost 3 inches thick. Cleaning with hot soapy water and a blue non-scratch pad did NOTHING to remove. Nothing! Now I have to use mineral spirits or some other non-food grade solvent to clean everything. Hello Lip! Great cutting board. Brutal label. Enough! UPDATE: I had to use white spirit (paint thinner) and a cloth to remove the sticker! Eventually it was fully released as the mineral spirits dissolved it. After a few days the alcohol smell was gone and I scrubbed the entire board with lots of soap and hot water. After it was completely dry I treated the entire board with a heavy coat of food grade mineral oil and let it soak well before buffing with a clean cotton cloth. Lipper, I see others have complained about this. When are you going to remove this horrible label?
