Review on πŸ”₯ Renewed Roku Streaming Stick+ with Long-range Wireless and Voice Remote: HD/4K/HDR Streaming Made Easy by David Dreher

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best Streaming Stick (IMHO)

In my attempt to cut the cable I've used ChromeCasts, FireSticks and now Roku Streaming Stick Plus. To be clear, I still rock the Firestick on a TV, but with consistent use I'm finding more apps, as I acknowledge it's a bit of apples and oranges (since the Streaming Stick Plus is for 4k and up and the Firestick is pretty standard). I want to use it on rocks instead of firesticks. I think that's mostly because Revain is trying to get you to buy more stuff (not that it's a bad thing), but their stuff more or less takes the spotlight and Roku doesn't care: they want, that Hulu and YouTube are always here. The first? Big! Here please! I find the remote to be responsive, and that has actually been a boon to our nannies as Millennials are inherently more comfortable and comfortable with app culture than they are with cable. While we emphasize what we have, we had no complaints. And when paired with a mesh network like Google Wifi, it just screams. I've had absolutely no latency issues, and as a bonus, I now have a Sling TV on every TV in the house, and a real cable box is out of the question. So I think it's a really reliable little device, to the point where I don't understand why anyone would still pay for cable (we do this 30 day experiment and then I'll never go back; I will throw my cable gear like an unwanted child outside my ISP's door and they'll hear my tires screaming into the night (maniac laughter in line)). TL; DR: This is an excellent cord cut option and the best choice for forward compatibility. Are there old people who only want news and sometimes movies? Buy them a rock and an HD antenna. Boom. Did.
