Perfect for spring cleaning your Macbook to keep it cool

My Macbook Pro (2012), which still runs great, was blown by just minutes after I connected it to the monitor raging fans or when the website contains a video or animation. Searching the web led me to conclude that this is due to the Nvidia GPU working to heat up the laptop and not dissipating the heat due to dust getting into the fan and vents. I ordered this toolkit from Revain. The tools seem to be of good quality and the screwdrivers are magnetic, making it easy to work on tiny screws without losing them. I opened the back of my laptop and found that there is really a lot of dust on the fans. and the vents are almost clogged. Another internet search yielded a video on cleaning with compressed air. Luckily I had a compressed air tank. After a few minutes all the dust was gone. After cleaning, I noticed an incredible difference in heat and fan speeds. I highly recommend spring cleaning your Macbook every few years. All I needed was a screwdriver in this tool box, but it was worth it. If you decide to do a cleaning anyway, then keep this important tip in mind. Not all screws on the bottom of a Macbook are the same length. For me, 2 out of 10 screws were about half a mm shorter than the rest. It's not easy to tell unless you put them side by side and look closely. I assumed they were all the same length until I put them back on. Then I had to try and fail to find the right ones. Luckily I had a compressed air tank. After a few minutes all the dust was gone.
