These bulbs (450 lumen MR16) are sensitive to heat despite being advertised as replacements for halogens. I replaced them with metal fixtures that had vents at the top for his earlier 50w halogen bulbs. After a while one of the lights started flashing. This was the second case with these lanterns. The previous one started flickering after being on for a while. These LEDs get very hot. My workaround was to remove the UV filter required for the halogens to facilitate heat dissipation. I think that might be enough. Most lights worked well and only 2 seemed to be at their limit. The previously flashing light worked perfectly after the replacement without a UV filter. I suspect this was because it had cooled by then; I still have to leave her for a long time.
