We needed a simple coffee maker that makes delicious hot coffee. And this model is perfect for that. I didn't see the brand name anywhere when ordering. Upon receipt, the fine print on the box says it was made by Dynex for Best Buy. Most of the coffee makers available have a built-in clock so you can program the coffee brewing time. We don't need this feature so this device was exactly what we wanted (it just has a simple on/off button). One slightly odd thing we noticed is that the power button seems to have a light. . The strange thing is that our light doesn't work when it's bright. Light that doesn't work or no light at all makes no difference to us. We always make the kettle, drink it with the family for the next hour, and then clean the kettle, empty the coffee grounds, and turn off the machine. If you make coffee during the day, the light (or lack of it) might be an issue for you. In addition, this device has a reusable filter that can be easily removed and washed. If you are looking for a very simple and inexpensive coffee maker that makes good hot coffee without the frills that people like me never use, then this is the coffee maker you need!
