Older USB controllers, such as the built-in USB 2.0 on an obsolete S478 board, are incompatible with the camera and can cause it to malfunction. In order to use the VIA-6202, I needed to retrieve a PCI card from the mezzanine. Also, Windows XP Service Packs 1 and 2 are incompatible with the camera; it will only function with Service Pack 3.
