I really liked this product at first. On my second use, as I ran the brush through my hair, the (heat-weakened) scalp barrier came off. The sudden lack of resistance to my hand's pressure on the brush pinched the exposed heating element against my ear, causing a severe burn. A blister formed immediately, which was very painful. This could easily have been avoided if the manufacturer had made the scalp guard out of a material with higher heat resistance. Without them, this is a safety hazard and I do not recommend this product.
