This is my first protective gear. I experienced the fall a couple of times to see if it would hold up and protect my fairly average pear shaped 150lb physique and luckily no pain, scratches or bruises. It scratches the protective gear, but that's part of the use. I would like to mention that this product will constrict your knees if your legs are as big as mine as the fit is like a glove. So grab an L and hope for the best (definitely more expensive) to avoid that suffocating feeling in your knees that can keep you from feeling flexible while riding. I gave it 3 stars because it's a limited edition product and designed a glove style that unfortunately is better suited to apple shaped bodies.
