So you definitely need to work with your pet/cat if they are not used to being harnessed. I got this one so I don't have to try to get my cats to use a different style. I sneaked up on him while he was eating and was able to put it on him easily. As soon as it was his turn, he would get dramatic and cry about it and eventually start trying to bite it off himself. I put it on loosely as it was his first time so he could get to the areas around his mouth and ended up biting and piercing him in multiple places. I would say this is a great pendant for beginners but not super strong or cheesy. I recommend this product.
