SEE THREE YEAR UPDATE AT THE END. Actually, I had the same experience as the other reviewer. My 1998 Toyota Sienna Minivan was diagnosed with a power steering leak. I was told that there was no other option for repair than to replace the entire rack, which, combined with the labor cost, cost about $1,000. I will not make that type of investment in a second car that is 17 years old and has 140,000 miles on the odometer. The next step was to take a risk and try to plug the leak inside the company. With so much liquid coming out overnight I thought what am I missing out on? I started with Preston with a lick stop. Since it was relatively cheap, I didn't really mind that it went through the system fairly quickly. The next step was to try something more "invasive". It seemed that Lucas was the best option. They offer a money back guarantee so I thought if they are so sure why not? The first bottle didn't have much effect. It's quite high in viscosity, so it might have stayed in the system a little longer on its own, but it eventually leaked out anyway. I tried Blue Devil. The reviews were more than decent and I figured this would be my last try before resigning myself to putting an aluminum pan under the engine bay and continuing to fill up with the inexpensive Prestone if needed, which is only four bucks for 32 ounces. Walmart. Despite the inconvenience, you can actually buy a lot of e-liquid for a bottle ranging from $1,000 to $250. Blue Devil itself has the consistency of alcohol, is very runny and more like a solvent. At least things were different. When I went to my car after a weekend without a car, out of habit, I just popped the hood to top up the fluids. To my surprise, I flooded the reservoir almost immediately. Was he silenced? What have I done to my car? Well I've been driving it for about a week now and I can see there's practically no liquid dripping from the trunk. Did I save $1,000? Possibly, but only time will tell. I gave this product five stars because it really made a difference and seems to stop the leak or at worst slow it down to manageable levels. Since according to the instructions only a third of the bottle should be used, I still had two thirds left. I wonder why they don't just put it in a smaller bottle and say. "use everything". If I run into more problems, I'll try more. For now, as you can see from the previous one, I'm looking forward to it! UPDATE: A month later, still works! UPDATE: Three years later, something had to be added. keep going My mechanic still doesn't believe me.
