🛢️ ACDelco GM OE 10-4017 Auto-Trak II Transfer Case Fluid - 33.8 oz Review

The only choice for a 2009 GMC Envoy SLT, I6, 4x4 Transfer Case Fluid Change Chevrolet or GMC Dealer; although not much, just a few dollars.

Restored my NP246, filled in 2 liters of fresh fluid, done. I'm pretty sure it's just a blue colored ATF, intentionally colored blue so you know where the leak is coming from (transfer case or transmission). I've never been able to spot a leak by looking at the liquid visually because if you notice it it's always gone bad, but who cares. It's not that expensive, and that's what GM demands.

In a GM 4x4 like my 1999 Tahoe, blue fluid gets into the friction transfer case. I bought 3 liters and drained what spilled from the drain hole within an hour. I was only able to return 2 liters so you may only need 2. Good price so don't mind having a spare liter. This is now the color code for my liquids. Blue = Transfer Case, Red = Transmission, Green = Antifreeze, Yellow = Engine Oil, Clear = Power Steering Oil.

Z71 2004 with RPO NP8 4WD Electronic Transfer Case After partially disassembling the transfer case it took two liters to fill up. This is the required liquid for these NPO cases. The fresh fluid seems to be helping the truck run smoother than before. It still had the original fluid in it as far as I can tell, but refilling the case with new fluid didn't seem to damage anything. I will always use this for my truck and its transfer case.

Definitely use Auto-Trak II GM transfer case fluid when needed. It's not very expensive, and my research on various forums has confirmed that the Liquid is no different from the original. I highly recommend getting a pump for the job otherwise it's a nightmare. There are liquid pumps that screw cheaply onto bottles and work wonders. As for the packaging, it's great! After much research I discovered that my 2003 Escalade transfer case used Auto Trak II Blue Fluid. Yes, it's Smurf Blue. Easy to drain old fluid and easy to fill with new fluid. My new process has clocked 85,000 miles on Auto Track I. I think II has pretty much the same formula. They change color because transmission fluid can leak into the transfer case on some vehicles, and both were pink. Add red to blue and if the fluid in your transfer case turns purple, you have a leak.
