The dog that asked us for this was old and couldn't resist. So we have to clean often. so for a few days. This worked for us as long as the spot was "unspotted" by the dog. Who tended to avoid very clean places because they didn't smell attractive to him. I also loaned our steam generator/hood and some of these to a friend who cleans their house for sale. Three weeks later it was sold to someone who thought the place smelled like a new home. I can't confirm that, but I think I get it. Our dog has gone and the place still smells like he never left us any 'gifts'.
