The collar helps my dog stay calm when he decides to bark at neighbor dogs, squirrels and other people. Being able to control the collar with the remote is a good thing because the previous collar I had on it happened to work. You are not teaching your dog not to bark when the automatic collar accidentally goes off, not when the dog is barking. I usually use a beep and then send a vibration if it doesn't stop. The vibration definitely makes him realize he needs to stop being so loud. I haven't used the shock feature and don't plan to, but after testing it with the device that came with the collar it seems to work pretty well! helps the dog know exactly when he's doing something wrong - under the owner's control with the remote control. 10/10
