I've tested this quite extensively in Raid 0 and JBOD and it works very well. The speed is good, falling asleep and waking up as it should, no problems. The problem I have and why I returned it is that it is a bit noisy. I actually noticed it less when the lid was off than when it was on. My guess is that when it was off there was more room for noise to dissipate, and when it was off it was all being routed through a small port. So it works almost like a whistle. I'm not sure if it's really the fan or the plastic case that's to blame for the noise, but I ended up going with a similar device from Oyen, which is definitely quieter. Too bad, because that option costs $40 more and requires you to buy a sled for about $15 each if you want to use SSDs. MediaSonic works great with SSD without additional hardware.
