I saw that this brand was more expensive than others but it looked a lot stronger in the picture. The rest looked pretty thin. When I received it today it still seemed stable, just like the picture shows. I assembled it, secured it to the table and quickly made 3 cakes from the 4 ounce or less strands that I had available in just a few minutes. He wouldn't be able to handle anything big, but as far as I'm concerned, none of them can handle it. The little packets of treats they send are good things which I wanted for my knitting anyway and should have bought them separately. The twine holder lever is good and stable, doesn't dangle like other brands say. The only thing that bothered me a bit is that when you take it out you have to snap the spindle in place and I had to use so much force that I was afraid of breaking it. Spindle inserted, nothing broken off, so everything is fine. I have bad wrists and I think this tool is definitely worth it.
