I have an old cordless drill with nickel-cadmium batteries. It works well BUT the batteries only stay charged for a day or two after charging - I remember charging my batteries the night before. This cordless battery from B&D is 20 volts compared to the 18 volts on my old battery and the batteries are lithium ion. BIG ADVANTAGES! The batteries are smaller and lighter, charge quickly and last more than a week. The drill is compact and versatile, just enough power for my home projects. It has an adjustable clutch to prevent overboring. I don't think it's professional quality but for a homeowner it's spot on and at an affordable price.
