Small, light and versatile. I'm not a phone repairman, but sometimes I need to fix the phone line to the emergency elevator phone. The fact that the meter shows DC voltage does not guarantee that the line is live. Also, I can connect this phone to a direct line and call my cell phone to get caller ID to find out what number needs to be programmed into the emergency phone.
