This was the first time using stain on wood. I usually paint or go au natural. I was afraid it would be too dark so I cut this 50/50 in a jar with water. You can see how light the first coat was. It’s ok because I like having more control on how it spreads and how dark it gets.It comes off the wood and your hands easy with water. It also wipes off and blends well which is great for a first timer like me.This was a practice build for a barncaster guitar. I wanted to try it out before I use 100 year old wood from my friends grandfathers barn. The first thing I did was sand blast the guitar body. Then I scorched it. Then I stained it.(Does that make it a SSS Telecaster?)After about 4 coats of the 50/50 diluted mix I finished it with a water based polyurethane finish.Looks great. Feels great. Nice color.Would recommend and buy again.ShanCEOSnow Guitars
