Protects against snakes and hurricanes

So I bought two of these for when I have to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. There is one for my bathroom and one for my future guest bathroom when I finally close my new house next month. I've seen too many (I mean TOO MANY) videos of people having snakes crawling out of plumbing and out of their toilets. So of course I have to turn on the light at night so there aren't any snakes in the toilet that bite me as soon as I sit down. Sleep. My husband laughed at me so much when he saw I ordered this. He didn't believe me at first when I told him about the snakes. He kept joking and joking some more when he realized I was serious. I put in three AA batteries (which was a little tricky but not impossible) and put the lid back on (again, more work than needed). It didn't fit my toilet exactly, but mine is really old and bigger than most. It worked great. I was surprised to see that the light changes color every few seconds instead of staying a solid color. You can also press the button below the sensor (which is both a motion and light sensor!) to make the light brighter or dimmer. If you hold it down for two seconds and wait for it to blink, you can leave it fixed. I was so amazed. I thought the light would stay on for a while but it only lasts about 30 seconds. It turns on from a few feet (3-5) away and is very bright. It also turns off automatically when you turn on the light switch or shine a bright light near the sensor. This is an amazing feature as it stays off during the day and saves battery life. Fast forward a few hours after I receive it. Hurricane Delta had just hit south Louisiana and at 9:54 p.m. the power went out at my house. I don't have a generator (stupid, but that's not the point). Well that means we have to use our phones for a light source and a powerful industrial camouflage flashlight that my dad gave me that weighs about 5 pounds. Well, even though the electricity is out, the water is still flowing and I have to pee. I go to the bathroom and it was like angels singing when the toilet light came on. I completely forgot. Needless to say, I had a blast rubbing (metaphorically) in my husband's face what a genius I am. I used (clean, unused, straight out of the box) another one I bought for my daughter's night light. So I definitely recommend them to anyone thinking about buying them or to those who don't even know it exists. They're perfect for snakes, hurricanes, or anything in between. Definitely the most hidden and underrated item that should be in every disaster preparedness kit.
